RAAAAGEEE - Well Dead HDD's Really.

So both new hard drives I ordered are DOA.  This is after I moved my existing HDD's into the other computer I was going to use them for and deleted half the content on them.  Thankfully I was able to just grab one old HDD out, run on it, and then format the other computer to slap XP on it.  Most of my stuff is still intact, including CS4, so I can code/stream/play whenever still.

Because of all the headaches from yesterday, I haven't had time to sort the editor pile or write anything new.  Thankfully I've got 3-4 submitted events to code so I can work on those tonight or tomorrow.  Tomorrow I'll have the place to myself for quite a few hours so I'm going to try to be productive and write at least 2000-3000 words for the dungeon during the morning/afternoon.   Just keep in mind that's a goal and not a promise.  Here's some excellent porn (kinda furry, sorry), from a great artist on FurAffinity.

I would like a seat at this table.

Lastly, I scraped up some cash to splurge and get a Fleshlight.  I've never owned anything like it before so I figured I may as well try it once.  The 15% sale & a 20% off coupon I found online helped.  Anyhow, I'll write a review at some point in a day or two and link it up.

Fen out!

  1. I never cared much for fleshlights myself, Tenga flipholes are where it's at if you ask me (but you won't).

  3. @Wohdin - I asked you with my subconscioooouuuuss....So far the fleshlight is way better than I thought it would be. I got two different textures and they are both pretty rad.

@Kyvi - I <3 bad dragon but I don't think my butt could handle most of their toys :P Not really that into anal masturbation anyhoo, and the pocket animal-pussies kinda weirded me out even more than normal pocket pussies.

@Musica - Bad Dragon is a sex toy site that sells animal-dong dildos and animal shaped artificial pussies.

  5. I ordered a HDD from newegg, and it wouldn't work until I wrote a new boot sector for it. get a windows install disk and go to the repair console and type fixmbr and press enter. that should write a new master boot record, which should initialize the disk and get it ready to go.

  6. Nah HDDs don't work off a windows install disk. One will show up in disk manager in windows, but only shows a capacity of 4GB(1.5TB drive) and when I try to initialize it so I can format, it gives me an I/O error. The other doesn't even exist to the computer.

  7. How old is the computer? Some older BIOSes/ATA chipsets and their drivers can't really deal well with very large disks.

  8. The motherboard is about a year old. I'm currently using a 300GB disk on it. The new disks are a 750GB and a 1.5TB.

  9. Did you check the bios to make sure it was set to the correct disk optoin, IE: SATA or IDE

This motherboard is known to default wrongly.
    Otherwise it should work...
ARe there any dead chips on the motherboard?

  10. I think you guys are really underestimating me when it comes to computers :P

I'm using a 300GB SATA disk right now that works fine. I have tried using different power supply/SATA cables to connect the drives with, the result is consistently the same.

  11. About a year ago when I bought my HDD there was roughly a 30% doa rate for HDD greater than 1TB due to faulty technology. This was not helped by many of the working HDD's failing after a month.

The information I got might have been wrong, but I did search for quite a bit. It might also have changed over the past year, but I'd still say go get a couple of 1TB drives. The F3 spinpoint from samsung is quite excellent despite it's low cost, though it is probably dated by now.

Course, this info is probably redundant as you've already bought the HDD's.

And I don't think we're really underestimating you, so much as that we as fellow computer geeks love every opportunity to spout our knowledge, for better or worse :P
